Our Peniel Service (A New Style of Worship)

11:00 am, Wasser Chapel
(Original building facing University Blvd.

And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved. – Genesis 32:30

We are Peniel – We strive to create an atmosphere that encourages connection and wrestling with God – engaging the questions is more meaningful than arriving at the answers. “Storytelling Sundays” and “Discussion Sundays” allow our practice of worship to be interactive and participatory. We also desire to reach beyond the walls of the church. Every eight weeks, starting in September, we will move our setting of worship into the broader Denver community where we will serve the lonely, the forgotten, and the disenfranchised. Why? Because we take Jesus seriously –“Go out and make disciples” and “just as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.” Last but not least, our music is vibrant and it’s led by very talented musicians! Perhaps Peniel can become a place for those who have not really found a place. Stay tuned for more from Peniel in the coming weeks! — Ryan Canaday

 Project Sundays

for one of Denver's agencies such as the Denver Rescue Mission or the St. Francis Center for the homeless.
We assisted UPark member Ethel Adams in making changes to her backyard for easier accessibility. [See photo below.]
